What I Was Scared To Tell You

So....I've been keeping something under wraps, and it was 100% due to the fact that I thought I would fail. I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, so if I didn't tell anyone, no one would know. Yep - not proud of THAT, but it's the truth.

What I AM PROUD OF is that I actually DID do it - I surprised myself! So now, I get to share it with you!

Most of you know, I recently completed 60 days of the program The Master's: Hammer and Chisel. I had fantastic results and was stoked! (You can see my YouTube channel for my vlogs through that process!)

Hammer & Chisel 60 Day Results!

The week after - I definitely took the opportunity to be lax. :) My workouts were still happening, but they were mostly cardio. And my food, well let's just say that my normally 80/20 rule went more to like 50/50! That left me with a lot of "waste weight" and bloat and I wanted to reset my system a bit.

I decided to use the 3 Day Refresh to do so. I chose this route because unlike other "cleanses" and detox systems....this focused on whole nutrition, you still got to CHEW FOOD, and it wasn't dangerously low on calories. Here's the general concept over the three days:

Morning: Shakeology

Morning snack: fruit and unsweetened herbal tea

Late Morning: Fiber Sweep

Lunch: Vanilla Fresh Shake with a vegetable, fruit, and a healthy fat

Afternoon snack: vegetable and health fat and unsweetened herbal tea

Dinner: Vanilla Fresh Shake with a vegetable and healthy fat

Also drink a minimum of 64 oz of water each day (I drank around 100oz, personally)

I was, admittedly, a little nervous. I like to eat, but I knew this bloat needed to be gone!

Here we go!!

************************************************************************

Here are my thoughts AND results:

Pros:

You still get to EAT food! YES!
Balance of fruit (carbs/sugar), vegetables, and healthy fats.
I was still able to teach TurboKick Live each of the 3 days! I only did a personal workout in addition to teaching on Day 1. For Days 2 and 3, I saved my energy to teach my classes.
There were only a couple times I felt truly hungry. Otherwise, I was honestly surprised at how satiated I felt.
I wasn't chained to a toilet. This isn't a "flush you out" type of cleanse - at least it wasn't for me!

Cons:

The only true con I can think of is that Fiber Sweep. Not gonna lie - each day I had to chug that down as fast as possible. To me, the taste isn't bad, but the texture was gritty.

Not a fan of the Fiber Sweep...LOL!

Overall Results:

I lost 4.2 pounds in 3 days! This is NOT fat loss, this is waste/bloat loss. But my tummy feels AND looks better.

Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3!

Overall, I think the 3 Day Refresh is for anyone who is either looking to rebound after an extended food binge, kick start a new way of eating/killing the bad food cravings, or someone looking to get that extra push to go past a plateau!

Since I had such a great experience - I am happy to share a DISCOUNT on the Refresh for the rest of March. $5 off the base kit and $10 off the complete kit!

Boy, was I wrong.

So as most of you know, Lindsay has been a Team Beachbody coach for a few years now. For the majority of those years, I have been extremely skeptical of that whole process. I had the same reaction that most people have to a multi-level marketing company. Some of those reactions included: “That’s just another pyramid scheme!” “That’s too gimmicky!” However, over the last few months, I’ve changed my mind about this company.

My mindset started to shift when I found Bodybeast, which is an at  home bodybuilding type program from Beachbody. Before this workout program, I was never a real DVD workout fan. I started that program and did it in totality. I loved it. During this time, I also started to be much more diligent about having Shakeology daily. It not only tastes amazing but it is all natural and its ingredients are sourced from  high quality verified farms. It has a whole host of benefits but the main reason I drink it, is to ensure that I’m getting what I am missing from my normal diet. It is like drinking a multi-vitamin. So, the products started to sell me on the company. I went ahead and signed up as a coach because we were killing some Shakeology each month and wanted the discount. And so it begins....

Each year, Beachbody has what they call their Coach Summit. Lindsay had wanted to go for a couple of years but it was never really been close to us. Last year, they announced it was coming to Nashville so she signed us up. We drove to Nashville to attend this summit and it was a truly amazing experience. From beginning to end, it is clear that Beachbody truly cares about their coaches. The whole weekend was spent giving back to them. This wasn’t the biggest selling point for me though. It was being around 25,000 other like-minded individuals who truly cared about the people they are helping. The overall theme of the weekend was Every One Matters. They lived that slogan throughout the weekend and its clear that everyone in the company from top to bottom believe in that motto daily. The other thing that blows me away about this company is that they truly exist to help people. Each of their products is designed to lead somebody to a healthier life. They offer a vast array of products and you’d be hard pressed to not find a product that works for you. After this weekend, I am completely blown away by this company and can't wait to have others share this company with me.

After listening to Dewitt Jones speak at Summit, it is clear to me that my passion for helping others needs to be rerouted. I have spent the last 10 years in public safety, which is a reactive line of work. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy doing public safety, but I feel like my passion is helping others before their life becomes a crisis. I am committed to helping others find their best self and maximizing their potential. Beachbody will be one of the main vehicles I use in helping people achieve their best. Please reach out to me if you need help on your journey. I am here to help.

Review of Shakeology Boost Supplements

Beachbody has released a new line of supplements designed specifically to boost your Shakeology. They had been asked by their consumers to add some additional things to Shakeology. They played with the formula for Shakeology and found that adding directly to the formula was too much and changed the flavor profile of the shake too much. However, they persisted and now released three separate boosts for your daily Shakeology. Lindsay and I bought each of these at the Coach Summit last weekend so that we could give them all a try and let you know how they were. The first boost I will write about, is my personal favorite, Focused Energy.

The coach summit was a very rewarding experience but it was also a very long weekend. We got up Sunday morning to head back to Buckingham and I told Lindsay that I was going to give Focused Energy a try in my morning shake. I wanted to try it and see if I could use it in place of coffee and ditch coffee completely. If any of you know me, you know how much coffee I drink. So, we were up early Sunday morning and made a quick shake with Vegan Chocolate Shakeology, 2% Milk, and a scoop of Focused Energy. We packed up our stuff and hit the road. We stopped for gas about forty five minutes into the trip. As was routine for me, I grabbed a small cup of coffee since I was in the convenience store and off we went. I probably drank a few sips of coffee and realized that the Focused Energy was keeping my energy and focus up. I also didn’t notice the crash on the 8 hour trip home that I normally get with coffee. This was completely different than the trip down where our stops centered around Dunkin Donuts shops for a refill. Fast forward to today, I have not had a cup of coffee since that small cup Sunday morning. My energy level has been even all day and my focus has been awesome. I also used to take a supplement called Alpha Brain from Onnit(GREAT PRODUCT by the way), but don't feel that it is necessary with Focused Energy coupled with Shakeology. If you are a current Shakeology drinker, I can not recommend Focused Energy enough. It is an awesome product and kudos to the team at Beachbody for this formula.

I’ll next talk about the Digestive Health boost. One of the things that Beachbody has heard since 2006 was that there should be more fiber in Shakeology. I’ve never felt that way about Shakeology and have always thought that was a perk of drinking it(Increased Gastric Motility). However, Digestive Health is here to save the day for fiber lovers. Digestive Health boasts 7 grams of fiber, with 2 grams from soluble and 5 grams from insoluble sources. So what does that mean? Soluble fiber attracts water and forms a gel which slows stomach emptying and helps with feeling full longer and can also help lower “bad” cholesterol by interfering with the absorption of dietary cholesterol. Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and adds bulk to your diet. Insoluble fiber acts as a “street sweeper” of your GI tract and speeds up elimination of waste from your gut. Enough about fiber, does this stuff work? I have had it in my shakes every morning since returning from Nashville to help eliminate some of the junk in my system. It has proven remarkable. It has definitely increased my gastric motility around a 2 hour window of drinking the shake. It also makes your shake thicker which I love and tastes great. If you drink Shakeology and are still searching the shelves for more fiber, Digestive Health is your answer. Most americans only get half of their recommended daily intake of fiber, so if you think you’re deficient, give Shakeology and Digestive Health a try.

Speaking of something Americans don’t get enough of, GREENS! The last Boost that Beachbody released is Power Greens! According to the National Institute of Health, fewer than 1 in 10 americans get their recommended daily servings of Fruits and Vegetables. Most of you I know, don’t have trouble with the fruits but can’t stomach the amount of greens. Shakeology, by itself, provides some greens but in a small concentration. So, enter Power Greens. One scoop of Power Greens is like eating 2/3 cup of leafy greens, 1/3 cup of cucumber and 1/3 large celery stalk. This is a great addition to your Shakeology that gives you a great dose of greens in a great tasting shake. I eat a fair amount of greens and still feel like I could eat more. Power Greens is the best way for me to add greens to my diet without putting extra burden on my stomach. When adding this boost to chocolate Shakeology, it will make your shake green and little bit denser but I barely notice it’s in there.

All of these boosts add great value to an already phenomenal shake. If you are already a serious Shakeology drinker, give these boosts a try. If you don't drink Shakeology on a regular basis or never tried it, I’d urge you to get started today. Lindsay and I have been daily consumers for years - it's the best part of our healthy lifestyle.

Let's Clarify Some Things, Shall We?

Hello there! The Lindsay-half of Fit with Farrar today :)

The two of us are almost always moving at a bazillion miles an hour.

Guilty.

For the past couple of years, we've grown our knowledge, focus, and interest in health and fitness, and it has and continues to spread out over various mediums.

We take for granted that most people are paying attention and can keep up with our goings-ons, when in reality, that's not always the case.

Thus - this blog post to help clarify!! YAY bullet points!

 1. Fit with Farrar is OUR brand. The term was coined in 2010, initially developed to solely be Lindsay's project and focus on her Beachbody journey. Admittedly, it fell to the way-side for a while, but in March 2012, we decided to take a new direction with it and turn it into what you see today!

 2. Speaking of Beachbody - yes, I (Lindsay) am and will continue to be an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. Beachbody programs CHANGED MY LIFE and I continue to use several of them on a regularly basis (not to mention drink Shakeology every day). The company is absolutely top-notch, the products are like nothing else in the at-home workout market, and I love being a part of their mission to end the trend of obesity. Annnddd, let's be real - the extra income is a bonus ;-) If you're ever interested in the income part, don't hesitate to contact me!

 3. We are not (yet) licensed or certified in nutrition or personal training. We do have a considerable amount of knowledge about both, but we never want anyone to have the wrong impression. We've found that most people don't give a rat's ass that we aren't certified and still want to work with us, BUT - this post is for clarification. So there you go. Note: We both will be getting certified in the near future, and at that point, we will likely start charging for our services (take-home point: get us for free while you can! kidding, kinda)

 4. Our mindset has been and continues to be this: not one type of working out is going to work for everyone and not one type of eating is going to work for everyone. We are focused on individuals and finding what works for them and their individual needs. While we love Beachbody programs and Crossfit, that doesn't mean that's all we can help you with. Our knowledge is pretty vast (and always growing), so please don't think we will pigeon-hold you or that we can't help you because you don't like the stuff we like.

So to summarize (because I love a good summary): Fit with Farrar is a passion we share that we are growing into a business. We think of ourselves as coaches/mentors and will soon have the certifications to back it up. We can help you with virtually anything and everything related to health, fitness, and nutrition: from recommending a workout program, to having you locals come to our house and workout with us, to helping you find a nutrition/meal plan that will help you make the life change. We're here. We want to help.

Love you guys! Thank you for all the support!

REVIEW: R.W. Knudsen Mega Green Juice

Who eats enough vegetables? We certainly don't. Having Shakeology daily certainly helps A TON, but even more couldn't hurt! With that said - we have been experimenting with juicing over the past couple of months to get more veggies in our diet.

First we tried a local health foods store in the small town neighboring our even smaller hometown. EPIC FAIL. I believe it had carrots, beets, and radishes in it. Can't even describe how disgusting it was. Took one sip. Done. Tossed in the trash. Lesson #1: fruit is a MUST to make a veggie juice consumable.

Secondly, we tried BluePrint Juice at Whole Foods. We tried the green one (romaine, celery, cucumber, apple, spinach, kale, parsley, lemon ginger) and while it was certainly better than our first attempt, we still couldn't drink an entire bottle.

Third try: (can you tell we were determined to find something that worked for us?!?!), we visited a friend and she made us some fresh juice from her juicer. If we remember correctly, it was romaine, lemon, ginger, green apples, celery, etc. Definitely the best we had tried up to that point: tasted mostly the celery and ginger. But then, she pulled out a jar of R.W. Knudsen's Mega Green Juice from her fridge and poured some for us to try.

Let's be real - we saw that and had inner dialogue something like "Oh HAIL naw, that looks like sewage!" but smiled and said "Ok, we'll try just a little bit".

Tilted the glass up, bracing taste buds for horrific grossness, and then...

ANGELS SINGING!
APPLE JUICE!! All you taste is apple juice!

We were pleasantly surprised shocked and so relived. Quick check of the ingredient label: not bad! The sugar content freaks most people out, but remember - it's from the fruit (there is no added sugar)!

Reader's Request: Detoxes/Cleanses

Holy canoli - this is a slippery slope! We say this because there is A LOT out there....products, guidelines, all kinds of stuff related to cleansing or detoxing the body. The two of us both believe that cleansing the body is an inherintely good thing, it's just some of the whack-ass products out there that make it a bad thing :(

For the sake of time and energy, let's focus on two things: 1. What does a cleanse do for you and 2. What are some good cleanse guidelines?

Just living in this world, your every move involves encountering some kind of toxin: environmental (smoke, pollution) or self-imposed (foods with artificial ingredients, for example). Guess what - this is some-kinda-hard on our bodies, externally, but ESPECIALLY internally! A good cleanse once or twice a year (or once a quarter) is an excellent idea to help your body rid itself of those toxins and simply function better!!

It is important to know that there is likely going to be a fair amount of discomfort during the cleanse process. Some common symptoms include headaches, fatigue, stomach and muscle cramps, loose bowel movements, etc. These symptoms usually don't last much longer than the first couple days, so be patient.

OKAY - now, what are some cleanses that we would recommend?

The Sweaty Betties have a 5-Day Cleanse that is pretty good! You do not need a whole lot of special items or products. We think this would make a good short, post-holidays cleanse or something you do to "dip your toes" into the cleansing waters. (HA! Did you see what we did there? lol)

Beachbody's Ultimate Reset is a 21-day Cleanse that focuses on taking your body gradually through the cleanse process (thus why it is 3 weeks). There are some supplements involved. We think this is more along the lines of a major body-changing type cleanse, rather than just a quick flush of your system.

If you already drink Shakeology, you could easily do a 3-day cleanse with that. The guidelines are extremely simple: 3 shakes a day, and 1 salad with 4 ounces lean white meat (fish or chicken), and as much water and green tea as you like for three days! We've done this after the holidays a lot to help get rid of the bloated, uncomfortable feeling from eating out of our norm!

Kris Carr has information on how to do green juice cleanses. This route might be the most impactful to your colon, being an all-liquid cleanse....something to keep in mind :)

Some other related items you might find interesting: intermittent fasting and this nice way to rid any water weight/bloat

Let's Chat: Have you ever done a cleanse? How did it go? Post below!

Lindsay's Beachbody Journey (So Far!)

Hello hello! I hope that our American friends had a wonderful fourth of July holiday.

This time of year, particularly July, makes me feel happy and my heart is full! I always reflect on the time, now two years ago, when my life changed!

It was May 2010 and I was overwhelmed with life - I was working full-time in a really challenging job, I was in graduate school full-time, and I was interning as a therapist part-time. I had an hour commute in and an hour commute out, so Monday through Friday, I was working or on the road 15+ hours each day - and boy was my body showing it! I was tired, irritable, constantly anxious. In my 2nd year, my graduate program *thankfully* focused a lot on self-care...basically that as future therapists, we needed to make extra certain we made time for taking care of ourselves, so that we could better help other people. I took that to heart and realized I needed to find something to do FOR ME!

I researched and researched - I knew I wanted to do a fitness program, and it had to be something I could do at home, because with 15+ hour workdays, I wasn't going to throw going to the gym into that crazy mix. I ended up buying ChaLEAN Extreme. Chalene Johnson seemed fun, nice and cute...someone who would motivate me!

How could this NOT motivate you?!

I received the program and ended up working out at 3:45 am (yes, you read that correctly) every morning. There was an adjustment period, for sure, but when my body started thanking me with more energy and less irritability, EVEN THOUGH I was still working 15+ hour days, I was HOOKED!

I didn't know when I bought ChaLEAN Extreme that I could have a coach (for free!) to help motivate me. My first coach was a dud and never reached out to me, but this wonderful woman named Bridget did and I switched to her immediately! She mentioned Shakeology to me, sent me some samples - and BAM! I was in Results City, USA!! With working out and drinking the shakes, I had lost 10 pounds, 13 inches, and 4 jean sizes!! Better than that - I was feeling good about myself!! I was more efficient at work, my school work and internship didn't bog me down as much....life was wonderful!

I was sharing my experience with all my friends and family - and taking a lot of selfies :)

And apparently wearing a lot of red!

It didn't take long for me to start getting questions about what I was doing - and I gladly told them! Bridget, my Beachbody coach, kindly relayed to me that if I became a coach, not only could I get discounts on the products, but I could make some extra income by doing what I was already doing - sharing my results with other people and helping them jumpstart their journey.

At first - I was skeptical....really skeptical. I wasn't sure this was right for me - I wasn't a salesperson, I didn't want to have to "sell" anybody on anything, that just sounded icky! Plus - I was already working full time, in grad school full-time, and interning...could I handle another thing added to my plate?!? So again, I did my research, listened to some people's stories, and realized you aren't selling - this isn't like Avon, Thirty-One, etc. You are sharing how you changed your life, and if people want to change theirs too, they can join you. That's all! And you put however much time and effort into it as you see fit.

So in July 2010, I became a Beachbody coach! Initially, I just wanted to make enough to cover my monthly Shakeology order, and anything else was just a bonus. I did that until I finished my Master's and life slowed down a bit, then I realized I could really devote more time to this and try to help more and more people! I focused less on the money and more on the people, and ironically, my little side-income GREW from that change in focus! I continued to do Beachbody programs....after ChaLEAN Extreme, I did TurboFire, then Insanity, P90X, Les Mills Pump, etc. etc.!

Yep, looking back on all this always makes me smile! Being a Beachbody coach has introduced me to so many GOOD people....they are all positive, motivated, passionate people and I love to surround myself with all the good vibes they put off!

Super Saturday Event!
P90 "X" me :)
Oh yeah! WORKOUT TIME!

One of my coaches, Danielle!

The additional income has been and continues to be a blessing, but what I love the most about it, and why I will continue to be a Beachbody coach is because 1. They are the best: I am a product of the product and I think they make some of the best programs ever, 2. I love seeing other people succeed. I love to motivate people, help keep them accountable, and I love to celebrate their successes with them, and 3. IT HOLDS ME ACCOUNTABLE!!! If you want motivation to stay on top of your health/fitness game - become a coach! Nothing will help hold you accountable like putting yourself out there as a health/fitness coach!! :-)

Thanks for taking the time to read this as I reflect on my journey. I have come so far and I am committed to helping people make the changes they want to make!

Talk to y'all soon!

Review: Vega One Nutritional Shake

We love Whole Foods....there is so much amazing yummy goodness in that place....cannot get enough! Going every week typically elicits a response similar to this:

One thing we always do is get a little sample of something we've never tried before. Our bellies *usually* love it, our wallets don't....le sigh :-)

This week's grocery trip was no exception. We picked up Vega One's All-in-One Nutritional Shake samples, one Berry and one Chocolate. Important to note: we've tried Vega's Sport Pre-Workout drink, and oh mylanta was it disgusting!! Gritty, gross, all around nasty. (In our humble opinions, of course!) But, we didn't completely write off the Vega brand based on that experience.....so we decided to see how the shake samples would go.

You can tell by the information here that the shakes are full of a lot of the good stuff: protein, fiber, digestive enzymes, etc. Neither of us are vegan (must.have.bacon.) but we like that it means this product is dairy, soy, and gluten free (particularly the last two!)

Thoughts:

Timothy tried the Chocolate flavor and Lindsay used the Berry flavor sample.
  • For the Berry sample, Lindsay put frozen blueberries and strawberries and Trop 50 Orange Juice and blended to perfection. The taste was good - very berry (like the name suggest) and the OJ gives it an extra punch of sweet/tart. It still had that mildly gritty, aftertaste/residue like their Pre-Workout drink did, which kinda sucked. Overall rating = B+
  • Timothy made the Chocolate sample with frozen blueberries and mango, almond milk, and a sprinkle of PB2. His incredibly poetic description of it was "It was fine; okay, B+"

According to the website, it is $69.99 (not including S&H) for a tub (assuming it is made to last you 30 days). The flavors are: Berry, Chocolate, Vanilla Chai, and Natural. That being said - we think Shakeology wins this battle, not only nutritionally, but if we're going to spend that much money, we want to LOVE the taste and we want top-of-the-line everything....Shakeology gives us both. Sorry Vega One - but thanks for playing!

These are a few of our *new* favorite things...

A couple items you might want to keep an eye out for in your next shopping trip!

Disclaimer with this first product: We wouldn't say this is the healthiest or cleanest thing to have, but hey...sometimes, you just want some cinnamon butter! :-)

Land O'Lakes Cinnamon Sugar Butter Spread....this stuff is the bomb.com!! It goes wonderfully on a slice of gluten-free bread. It's 70 calories per tablespoon (so go easy) and has 4 grams of sugar. For those interested, the ingredients list is pretty good, just cream, sugar, canola oil, water, cinnamon, salt, and citric acid:

Another item new to our kitchen is powered Chia seeds. Chia is all the rage (probably largely due to Dr. Oz's endorsement), but in all honesty, it does have great nutritional value. Chia is full of healthy omega fats, protein, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. Chia POWDER is even better for you than the SEEDS. Any seed that has been germinated (made into a powder) is easier for your body to absorb nutrients. This is also true for flax seeds/flax powder.

The serving size for this particular brand is two tablespoons for only 25 calories! We put it in our shakes and cannot taste it! You could add it to your shakes, oatmeal, put it in virtually anything you make and get good support for your intestinal and cardiovascular health!

The last item involves a subject that is very near and dear to our hearts.....peanut butter. GLORIOUS peanut butter. Clearly a gift from the gods, but even the natural kind, is high calorie and high fat (albeit good fat!) Well the good people at Bell Plantation took note of this and created an even more amazing product: PB2!!

It's peanut dust! Powdered peanuts!! You get the taste and texture of peanut butter WITHOUT the high calories and fat. GENIUS! Just mix with water to get actual "peanut butter" - but we mostly use this in our shakes. One tablespoon is enough to turn chocolate Shakeology into a Reese Peanut Butter Cup delight!

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? We want to hear from you! Leave a comment or send us an email! fitwithfarrar@gmail.com

Grocery Store Trip - Farrar Style!

It really started while Lindsay was in graduate school, pursuing her Master's. She was working full-time, taking a full-time course load, and doing her counseling internship at night. Timothy was working full-time as a firefighter and pretty much every day he wasn't at the station, he was working a variety of part-time jobs (plumbing, farm hand, etc.).

We were pretty much passing ships in the night....we were newlyweds, but didn't have much time to spend together!! Early on Saturday or Sunday mornings....we'd go grocery shopping. It was virtually our only chance to get an hour or two together, so those trips were like our dates (complete with PDA in the aisles, lol).

While our schedules have calmed down since then....we still consider grocery store trips to be like dates! We both enjoy it and doing it together is the best :-)

After doing a little Facebook poll earlier this week....it was determined that our friends were most interested in a blog post about our grocery shopping! Well here you are....pics of our most recent trek to Whole Foods (yep, we travel nearly an hour out of the boonies to the nearest Whole Foods - food quality is important to us!!).

Frozen fruit and berries!! Blueberries, Berry Medley (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries), and Pineapple Chunks. We make a lot of shakes, and these add a big antioxidant punch to them!

"Breads" = waffles, english muffins, and sandwich bread....all gluten-free!! Also have some plain, sodium-free rice cakes (love to spread PB on these!) and Timothy saw some cinnamon dried apples and picked some of them up.

MEAT! This is probably our biggest reason for going so out of our way to shop at Whole Foods...clean, quality meat! Kroger, Food Lion.....the meats just don't compare. Of course, we get a ton of chicken breasts. Lindsay gets some ground chicken to cook up with some salt and pepper to quickly eat in the morning. Timothy gets chicken burger patties and some chicken sausages. Bacon is also a big hit in the Farrar household (shout-out to Paleo peeps! Lol). Lindsay got some pepperoni for a couple recipes she found on Pinterest this week.

Plain Greek yogurt, almond butter, some eggs, dark chocolate, and chia powder. Also got some Egg White Protein samples to try out and picked up a mason jar of honey from a local farmer.

Pretty self-explanatory here! Fruit! Apples, bananas, grape fruits, oranges, lemons, and some pomegranate kernels.

Had a lot of frozen veggies stocked up, so just needed some sweet-potatoes, carrots, and baby spinach this trip. Going to try to make some raw shakes instead of more than 1 Shakeology a day (we're running out before the next shipments arrive!) and a lot of recipes call for baby spinach! Will likely have a post in the future about our trying out raw shakes!

Speaking of Shakeology - beginning of the month brought our next shipment!! Thank goodness!! We get the mixed box: half-Chocolate and half-Greenberry. Can't do without this stuff!!

Ohhh....the mail also bought Lindsay's new cross trainers! She was in desperate need of a new pair, and after doing some research, the Ryka Assist XT2 came highly rated amongst fitness instructors/people who did high impact workouts.

Alrighty folks - that's a fairly typical grocery store trip for us! If you have any questions - please comment below or shoot us a message!

And We're Live (Sort of)

The experimenting has begun!! I know that I (Lindsay) can spend hours on YouTube....so I figured the Farrars needed to get on board!

That being said - we are active on YouTube now! Here's the first test video:

It's almost the weekend....YAYAYAY!
